Dive into Asana – beyond the body into intelligence

A course to take yoga students and teachers into a whole new experience of asana – bringing intelligence to your practice.

Once you start to practice yoga asana more regularly you begin to get a sense that there is more to them than just the body.  This class focuses on those other things which will help improve your postures and give a whole new perspective to your practice and maybe even your life.

Beyond just the physical, dive into the layers of energy, mind, wisdom and bliss of your asana. Develop skill and wisdom in your poses from a personal level. Then learn how to communicate the felt sense each posture offers on various levels. Communicate the intelligence of the poses by discovering the story you share with them as you explore each in the present moment. Come into relationship with the postures and find the union – yoga – in each form.

Each of the four courses will focus in on several postures. Once you know the fundamentals of postures it is really easy to understand the complexities. In this workshop, you will view the asana through the lens of the:

  • Chakras
  • Koshas
  • Modifications and variations
  • Physical safety and alignment
  • Prana Vayus
  • Bandhas

Through the practice, observation and new perspective you will gain an entirely new understanding of your postures by attending these courses.  All are welcome to attend.

2. Warrior 2 – Virabhadrasana 2
3. Lunge – Anjaneyasana
4. Triangle – Trikonasana
5. Half Moon – Ardha Chandrasana
6. Extended Side Angle – Parsvakonasana

1. Cobra – Bhujangasana
2. Half Lord of the Fishes – Ardha Mastyendrasana
3. Rishi’s Twist – Bharadvajasana
4. Camel – Ustrasana

6. Bridge – Setu Bhandasana
7. Wheel – Urdhva Dhanurasana
8. Belly Twisting Pose – Jathara Parivarttanasana
